Job Summary:
Screen & route incoming calls using electronic attendant console.
Provide instructions & assistance to callers within and outside the medical center.
Essential Duties:
Process all incoming/outgoing calls
Answer emergency calls & alarms and follow SOP regarding routing/ reporting
Maintain appropriate records
Perform overhead paging services as required within the hospital
Provide general information as requested (I.e. visiting hours)
Provide pager distribution within the hospital for specific VA employees
Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED
Excellent written & verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
Excellent grammar and proofreading skills
Must have a good speaking voice.
Minimal typing involved to access phone directory
Excellent customer service skills
Must be able to work any rotating shift if needed
Must be able to pass criminal background check
Must work well in a team environment & possess
excellent organizational, interpersonal, decision-
making and prioritization skills.
Further Requirements:
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
Must have dependable transportation to and from work
