The Charlie Yates Golf Course, managed by Bobby Jones Links, is located just minutes from downtown Atlanta, Midtown, and Decatur. Located in the award-winning East Lake community, the Charlie Yates Golf Course features a wonderfully conditioned 9-Hole Golf Course designed by famed architect Rees Jones. Facilities include a driving range, chipping and putting areas as well as a fully stocked Golf Shop.
Charlie Yates Golf Course is hiring for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. Primary responsibilities include:
- Directs and delegates activities to the grounds staff, Irrigation Technician, Mechanic, and any other on-course supervisory personnel.
- Has daily communication with the Golf Course Superintendent and Head Golf Professional regarding the golf course conditions and its playability.
- Keeps all permits and licenses pertaining to the agronomy department up to date.
- Handles all chemicals and hazardous substances safely and according to the law.
- Assists with the implementation of all fertilizer and pesticide programs.
- Responsible for the operation of all maintenance equipment, along with calibration and operation of each.
- Maintains a safe work environment for all agronomy associates, providing regular training to them in this area.
- Assists in overseeing all capital improvements to the golf course.
- Hires and trains all maintenance personnel.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Eagerness to learn.
- Ability to operate machinery.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word.
- Understanding of Club financials.
- A thorough working knowledge of the clubs agronomy operation.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
- Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Occasionally exposed to wet and humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
