Service Writer -Bobcat of Beckley (Daniels, WV)

Full Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Service Writer to join our team at Bobcat of Beckley. The Service Writer will primarily responsible for generating documentation and billing for service repairs. This includes invoicing, quoting, warranty, and other items required for the repair. Other duties and responsibility include answering phone calls and contacting customers on repair . The ideal candidate will act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring their service needs are met with professionalism and expertise. This role requires strong communication skills and a solid understanding of the repair service processes, enabling you to provide accurate information and recommendations regarding equipment maintenance and repairs.

Duties

• Entering descriptions and ensuring work orders are coded properly.
• Processing Work Orders and generating invoices.
• Work with the parts departments to ensure technicians have what they need to complete repairs.
• Checking Units In and Out of shop in accordance with company policy.
• Updating Repair and Customer status in the system.
• Provide customers with updates, estimates, and inspection results in a timely manner.
• Assist in with warranty and other manufacturer related paperwork.
• Completion and filing of Bobcat Arrival Condition Reports.
• Assist in collecting and processing customer payments.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the service manager.

• Perform certain computer skills and operate standard office equipment.
• Provide excellent customer service by listening to customer inquiries and requests, asking questions to identify service needs, and resolving concerns.

• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Competent skills regarding the operation of compact industrial equipment.
• Accommodating and analytical, while producing highly precise and accurate work

Experience

• Previous experience in service writing or a similar role within an automotive environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with automotive service processes, including brake repair, vehicle maintenance, and diagnostics.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly to customers.
• Experience in upselling services and handling cash transactions effectively.
• A background in mechanics or automotive service is a plus but not required.
