About the Role:
As a Technician III, you will use your advanced knowledge of mechanics to diagnose, repair, and maintain of a variety of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems. You will play a critical role in keeping customer and company owned equipment running smoothly by performing routine maintenance tasks, conducting inspections, and perform repairs as directed with efficiency and accuracy per company standards.
Business Operating Hours/Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:30 am - 5:30 pm
In this role you can expect to:
- Troubleshooting and Repair
- Perform complex diagnostics and repairs on a variety of equipment and systems using knowledge of schematics and diagrams.
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on diesel engines, addressing issues related to fuel systems, exhaust, transmissions, and emissions.
- Utilize computer systems to properly troubleshoot and diagnose problems.
- Preventive Maintenance
- Perform routine preventive maintenance of equipment to ensure it remains in rental ready condition.
- Daily inspection, greasing, checking fluid levels, etc.
- Safety Compliance
- Follow company safety and workplace policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs, including parts used and work performed.
- Completion of work orders, inventory counts, etc.
- Supplemental
- Participates in training programs for the development of skills and knowledge
- Mentor and/or train Trainees and Lower-Level Technicians
- Work effectively with all levels of the company -- Parts, Service, Sales, Rental
- Meet and exceed Key Performance Indicator (KPI) requirements, including productivity, quality, and safety standards
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Supervisor
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma, GED, Technical or Trade School
- Acceptable Driving Record
- 5 Years of Experience related to gasoline, diesel, natural gas, and/or electrical equipment or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge & abilities.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and working collaboratively with a team
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently
- Ability to operate vehicles, tools, and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
- Ability to work in all forms of weather conditions.
