Position Title: Senior Director Costco

Compensation and Benefits:

·      Salary range is $150,000-$180,000 annually.

·      Benefits include bonus potential, health, dental and vision insurance, 401k with 4% company match, equity shares, sick and flexible time-off.


Position Overview:

The Senior Director of Costco Sales will oversee and drive the growth of the company’s sales within Costco, building relationships with key accounts and executing sales strategies that align with the company’s overall business objectives. This role will be responsible for the development and management of broker partners, account relationships, and strategic initiatives to maximize revenue within Costco.


Key Responsibilities:

·      Strategic Planning and Execution:

o  Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies specifically for Costco.

o  Work closely with senior management to align sales strategies with company objectives, ensuring consistent growth within Costco.

o  Analyze sales performance data and market trends to identify new opportunities, customer demands, and competitive threats within Costco.

o  Drive initiatives to improve market share and profitability within Costco.

·      Broker Partner Management and Development:

o  Lead, mentor, and manage broker partners who are jointly responsible for Costco sales.

o  Provide guidance on best sales practices, ensure broker partner alignment with company goals, and foster a high-performance sales culture.

o  Build strong, mutually beneficial relationships with broker partners to ensure effective representation of the company’s products within Costco.

·      Account Management and Relationship Building:

o  Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at Costco.

o  Negotiate and secure long-term contracts, promotional agreements, and product placement with Costco.

o  Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment in product assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies.

·      Sales Performance and Reporting:

o  Monitor and report on sales performance within Costco, including forecasting, revenue analysis, and margin analysis.

o  Track KPIs and sales metrics to measure the effectiveness of sales strategies, adjusting tactics as necessary.

o  Prepare and present regular sales reports and forecasts to senior leadership.

·      Product and Market Innovation:

o  Work with product development teams to ensure product offerings align with Costco’s market needs and trends.

o  Lead efforts in product innovations and customizations for Costco to drive sales growth.

·      Promotions and Pricing Strategy:

o  Collaborate with the marketing and promotions teams to create and implement effective promotional campaigns to drive sales and brand awareness within Costco.

o  Manage pricing strategies for Costco to optimize sales and margins.


Qualifications:

·      Education:

o  Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).

·      Experience:

o  Minimum 10 years CPG experience with at least 5 years in a sales leadership role managing Costco in the food industry.

o  Proven track record of success in driving sales growth at Costco.

o  Strong knowledge of Costco’s operational and promotional requirements.

·      Skills & Competencies:

o  Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

o  Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

o  Ability to manage and motivate broker partners to achieve targets.

o  In-depth understanding of retail pricing, product assortment, and promotions.

o  Proficient in CRM tools, Excel, and data analysis tools.

 

Supervision Given:

·      This position reports to the EVP Sales

·      This position is expected to be able to work with minimal oversight and be able to confidently handle situations on their own.

Location: Remote – must be in location with easy access to a major metropolitan airport


Travel Required: May be up to 50%, attend customer meetings, broker meetings, HQ meetings and trade shows
