Summary:
The Estimator/Project manager is the first-line management of small to moderate construction projects, including scope development, cost and construction oversight, and contract administration.
Responsibilities:
· Prepare complete project estimates for all project costs
· Participate in scoping sessions with the client and produce detailed estimates and technical narratives to present and negotiate with the client
· Participate in the estimate review process with internal and external stakeholders
· Produce in-house production reports and schedules, as required to effectively manage multiple projects at once
· Take responsibility for estimates to be used for evaluating and determining feasibility of both new construction and other projects
· Be responsible to implement cost control methods and procedures, gather and maintain historical project costs and databases for projects
· Stay current on industry trends and resources related to cost estimating
· Incorporate and manage estimates to ensure compliance with local codes and design standards
· Ensure accurate and detailed follow up with all internal and external customers, maintain excellent customer contact with project management.
· Prepare bills of material and other information for use by purchasing
· Act as the main point-of-contact for project personnel
· Review and monitor job costs versus budgets
· Provides project management assistance to support the project management team
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or other related field
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Estimating and Project Management for various types of commercial construction projects
· Experience with estimating techniques and software. Netsuite, MS Project, Excel and Bluebeam are a plus.
· Ability to travel to client sites
· Ability to work productively within an integrated team environment and independently to meet individual and team milestones and deadlines
· Provide superior client service and experience
· Drive innovation through the entire Construction Cost Estimating process
· The selected candidate must take pride in a job well done, be able to manage administrative duties in a timely manner.
· Applicants must possess excellent communication skills and be adept in managing multiple construction contracts from concept to completion
· Organization, attention to detail and experience working with subcontractors are all a plus.
