Duties
- Administer speech and language evaluations to patients to collect information on type and degree of impairments.
- Complete well-written diagnostic reports.
- Develop and implement treatment plans for neurodivergent children based on assessments and recommendations of physicians, psychologists, or social workers.
- Play-based therapy provided in home or school settings.
- Provide referrals based on client’s medical, therapeutic, academic, or recreational needs.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and OT on techniques to carryover skills to home, school, and community.
- Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatments accordingly.
- Maintain proper documentation of caseload activities, including the initial evaluation, treatment, progress, and discharge of clients.
- Develop individual or group activities or programs in schools to address communication breakdowns, social skills, speech, and language.
- Participate in meetings regarding patients' progress, such as in-service meetings and intervention team meetings.
- Complete administrative responsibilities, such as scheduling case management activities.
- Educate patients and family members about various topics, such as communication and play techniques.
- Consult with and refer clients to additional medical, recreational, or educational services.
Requirements
- Master's in Communicative Sciences & Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology
- Certificate of Clinical Competence
- Have or willing to obtain TN licenses
- Valid TN Driver's License
