Bodine Electric Company, the leader in design and manufacturing of fractional horsepower gear motor for the power transmission and motion control industry has an opening for a Demand Planner/Analyst.
The Demand Planner/Analyst is responsible for controlling finished goods inventory through analysis of customer demand, maintaining forecast and production load, and analyzing component system settings to support efficient production while maintaining customer service levels. This position takes direction on expected production load and inventory levels, and then develops and updates forecast, along with finished good jobs, to meet inventory and service expectations. Adjusts work schedules as necessary to meet special order requirements. Works with all departments to coordinate and disposition inventory related to product design changes. Works with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Sales, and Design departments to ensure sufficient parts are planned to support short- and long-range schedules.
Skill Set
- Associate degree and/or 5 years of experience.
- Minimum of 5 year’s experience scheduling in a manufacturing setting required, with experience in a lean environment preferred.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
- Must possess analytical skills utilizing various data manipulation programs (Grow, Power BI, Excel, etc.)
- Must be knowledgeable of information systems such as Visual PDM, Epicor Kinetic, etc.
- Schedules a variety of production operations and analyzes new orders to plan, schedule and release orders to achieve goals of inventory, customer service, safety, quality, and budget.
- Works with all functional areas to resolve production issues, must apply complex problem-solving skills.
- Liaising with Sales, Design and Manufacturing to ensure that corporate objectives are met.
- Performs activities required to implement Engineering design changes.
- Manages company’s inventory programs for Stock finished goods and all Bodine components.
- Analyzes and adjusts, as necessary, inventory replenishment/stocking plans (kanban’s, safety stocks, forecasts) that are affected by changes in demand, ordering patterns/trades, forecasts, suppliers minimum/multiples, contamination, cost, raw material, external and internal lead-times.
- Balances inventory plan with production constraints considering corporate goals and objectives, makes calculations and updates stocking programs accordingly.
- Analyzes and adjusts, as necessary, production schedules that are affected by changes in raw material and equipment.
- Balances production operations considering product mix, makes calculations and updates schedules accordingly.
- Knowledgeable of Lean Manufacturing techniques of value stream mapping, kanban, JIT, one piece flow, etc.
