Key Responsibilities Include:
- Preparing estate planning documents, including revocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney, irrevocable trusts (GST/Dynasty trusts/GRATs/QPRTs, etc.), as well as prenuptial agreements.
- Administering complex trusts and estates with minimal to no supervision.
- Conducting legal research and advising clients regarding estate, gift, and income tax matters.
- Advising clients regarding corporate matters and preparing formation and governance documents, including operating agreements and buy-sell agreements.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients and professional advisors.
- Assisting with training and mentoring associates and other team members.
- Delegating and overseeing assignments to associates, paralegals and legal secretaries.
- Managing multiple large projects with significant client interaction and exceptional communication.
- Ability to prioritize and organize numerous tasks to complete them efficiently.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Qualified candidates will hold a Juris Doctor degree and be admitted to the Michigan state bar. They will also have at least eight years of legal experience.
