Position Summary
This position will provide lifeguard services for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center located in Charleston, SC.
Hours will vary based on the scheduling and training needs of the facility, but pool hours known are:
Monday-Friday 5am - 4:30pm
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 4:30-6:45pm
Saturday 10am - 2pm

Required Tasks:
- Be on duty during the recreational pool operation hours.
- Monitor patrons and swimmers to ensure safety and pool rules are followed.
- There will always be a primary lifeguard and a secondary lifeguard. One lifeguard is assigned to observe and monitor patrons/swimmers.
- The other lifeguard may perform other tasks as assigned and work as a backup position.
- Enforce all swimming pool rules and regulations.
- Must be able to operate life-saving equipment and ensure first aid kits are stocked.
- When needed, make emergency calls to the ambulance, rescue, fire department, or security.
- Monitor weather conditions and evacuate the pool during lightning, thunderstorms, high winds, gales, etc.
- Report maintenance issues to the pool operator and facility manager.
Position Requirements:
- Must have and maintain American Red Cross, YMCA (or equivalent) Lifeguard Certificate, current First Aid Certificate, and current CPR.
- Must pass a physical to ensure can meet the physical requirements of the role.
