About The Role:
The Director of Operations of Distribution is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end distribution, logistics, and operational efficiency of PainfulPleasures. This role ensures seamless supply chain execution, optimal inventory management, and warehouse efficiency to drive cost savings, productivity, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate has a track record of implementing warehouse automation, lean operational strategies, and process optimization to maximize throughput and efficiency.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervise warehouse managers, and operational staff, ensuring accountability for performance and efficiency.

Lead hiring, training, and performance management for all warehouse, logistics, and distribution employees.

Develop and mentor supervisors and frontline managers, fostering leadership growth and succession planning.

Conduct regular performance reviews, provide coaching, and implement training programs to enhance team skills and effectiveness.

Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Optimization & Efficiency
-
Design and implement lean warehousing principles to reduce waste, improve space utilization, and enhance workflow efficiency.

Optimize warehouse layout and slotting strategies to improve picking efficiency and reduce order processing time.
-
Oversee cycle counting and real-time inventory tracking to maintain high inventory accuracy and minimize shrinkage.
Distribution & Logistics Management

Oversee daily distribution center operations, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment.

Develop and implement transportation and logistics strategies to minimize costs and improve delivery times.
-
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, on-time shipping, and warehouse productivity.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and operational standards in distribution and logistics.
Process Improvement & Technology Integration

Leverage warehouse management systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software to streamline operations.

Identify and execute cost-saving initiatives through technology enhancements and process automation.

Implement data-driven decision-making through real-time analytics and reporting dashboards.

Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all warehouse and distribution activities.
Financial & Budget Oversight

Manage distribution and warehouse operations budgets, optimizing costs while maintaining service excellence.

Analyze operational expenses and implement strategies to reduce cost-per-order and labor costs.

Identify opportunities for process automation and capital investment to drive long-term savings.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field (MBA preferred).

Experience: 7 years in warehouse, distribution, logistics, or operations leadership roles.

Qualifications

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI):
- Establish and develop SOPs for JCD Production and R&D in order to establish KPIs for the JCD Production, Quality & R&D teams.
- Establish clear, consistent, and measurable standards for the quality department including but not limited to First Pass Yield, Rework, and Scrap.
- Establish clear, consistent, and measurable standards for the operations department including but not limited to capacity utilization, overall equipment effectiveness, and standard operating efficiency.
- Develop the R&D team with a clear structure, roles & responsibilities. Establish new processes that focus on improvement of current inks, in addition to ideation of future tattoo and permanent makeup inks.
- Lead the implementation of and achieve ISO 134185 certification in the new JCD facility by end of 2021.
- Work closely with IPR to establish a production schedule to achieve 1-week delivery time for IPR customers by July 2021.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree Chemical Engineering preferred; Chemistry and/or Mechanical Engineering.
- 10 - 15 years of chemical manufacturing industry experience with a strong working knowledge of all production elements of ERP manufacturing systems.
- Must have 5 years of management level experience
- Must have experience with chemical manufacturing / production, both batch and continuous operations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds if needed.
