The Marketing & Ecommerce Analyst is responsible for analyzing data from various marketing and ecommerce platforms to identify trends, optimize performance, and support strategic decision-making. This role works closely with the marketing, product, and ecommerce teams to drive revenue growth and improve the customer journey.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data Analysis & Reporting
• Analyze sales, conversion, traffic, and engagement data from ecommerce platforms, digital marketing channels, and website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Shopify).
• Develop and maintain dashboards to track KPIs such as traffic, conversion rates, average order value (AOV), and customer lifetime value (CLV), customer acquisition costs (CAC)
• Provide actionable insights, identify trends, and make meaningful recommendations that lead to improved marketing ROI and ecommerce performance.
Performance Optimization
• Evaluate the performance of digital marketing channels, including SEO, PPC advertising, email marketing, and social media, and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Conduct A/B testing on website elements, marketing campaigns, and product listings, leverage results to drive conversion and engagement optimizations.
• Analyze customer behavior, including click-through rates, shopping cart abandonment, and path analysis.
• Actively monitor KPI results to detect anomalies, working cross-functionality to report and resolve issues.
Collaboration & Strategy
• Partner with the marketing team to assess campaign performance and recommend data-driven improvements.
• Work with the product team to optimize product listings, pricing strategies, and inventory management.
• Collaborate with leadership to inform budget allocation and forecast ecommerce growth.
• Work alongside colleagues to align test results into development requirements.
• Develop measurement plans in support of promotional and merchandising activities as well as larger scale website enhancements.
Market Research
• Monitor industry trends, competitor performance, and customer behavior to identify new opportunities.
• Analyze customer feedback and reviews to improve product offerings and marketing messaging.
Tools & Technologies
• Leverage tools like Google Analytics, Power BI, Excel, and ecommerce platforms to extract and interpret data.
• Hands-on knowledge and use of A/B testing and reporting tools.
• Stay up to date with emerging tools and technologies in the ecommerce and digital marketing space.
• Partner with Developers to enrich tracking capabilities and ensure integrity/accuracy of site analytics data.
SKILLS:
• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Google Analytics (advanced knowledge of GA4), Excel (advanced), Tableau, Snowflake, and Power BI.
• Working knowledge of key marketing platforms like Google Ads, Facebook Ads Manager, and email/sms marketing tools (Klaviyo/Attentive).
• Understanding of SEO, PPC, and digital marketing principles and ability to recommend growth strategies relevant to each area.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to perform in-depth analysis, synthesize results, report and present strategies and make recommendations.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• 2 years of experience in ecommerce analytics, digital marketing analytics, or a related role.
• Experience working with ecommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce).
