Position Summary:
Based in London, Ohio, the Field Support Process Engineer role is a global support role within S3P Technical Services, and it will provide essential training and support to all S3P plants. In addition, the role will be to install and commission new units globally. This role will operate under the direction of the Head of Technical Services S3P.
Due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market, Bodycote deems this position to be safety-sensitive.
Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to the following.
- Technical support of Global S3P plants. (production, process, troubleshooting, calamities)
- Train and retrain S3P Unit operators in operation, maintenance, and Unit safety per the S3P operators manual.
- Responsible for inspecting all processes and operations at each site to comply with Bodycote S3P standards.
- Support local maintenance teams in Unit preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting as needed.
- Responsible for commissioning and de-commissioning site heat treatment units.
- Researching and developing S3P processes in conjunction with the Technical Services teams as directed.
- Creating and maintaining procedures/instructions.
- Address any additional tasks as directed by your manager.
- Approximately 50% of travel will be international, with some trips planned in advance and others responding to immediate business needs.

- This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical/mechatronics role and/or experience operating and maintaining S3P furnaces.
- Mechatronics / Engineering / Process technology or similar education.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence at all levels within client organizations.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and regions.
- Electrical and Mechanical skills and basic knowledge of process technology.
- Work experience is preferable in S3P as a Unit Operator with a strong blend of analytical thinking and hands-on approach.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on safety, able to oversee all aspects of a project or task.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
