Position Summary:
Based in Dallas, TX the Maintenance Engineering Manager directs and manages all Maintenance Engineering and Control Systems related projects for the Aerospace, Defense, and Energy sites in North America. They are responsible for the productivity, performance, and cost optimization of equipment and systems.
The Maintenance Engineering Manager will develop, implement,t and manage the effective use of maintenance processes and tools (CMMS, RCA, etc.) while partnering with plant general managers and plant maintenance personnel to ensure Uptime and Reliability of plant production equipment and facilities are optimized to the required BTP targets.
Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to the following.
- Accountable for the effective use, maintenance, and continued improvement of all North American Bodycote ADE equipment.
- Responsible for the maintenance support of equipment and control systems at all sites.
- Lead the regional maintenance engineering teams, ensuring they are engaged and effective in their positions.
- Lead from the front, ability to assist in troubleshooting remotely or on-site as required, using sound engineering / analytical approach.
- Responsible for developing, revising, and implementing a data-driven preventative maintenance program incorporating equipment-specific PM strategies to ensure that value is derived from all capital equipment managing success through metrics and KPIs.
- Responsible for using and administering CMMS driving full accurate participation to the plant level.
- Responsible for implementing and employing tools such as Pareto analysis, RCA, 8 steps, and FMEA to identify issues, contain, and generate robust countermeasures to prevent re-occurrence.
- Full ownership of all Maintenance Capex projects for the ADE sites in terms of content, timing, spending, and delivery. This will be coordinated with the Capital Projects Managers.
- Drive and champion continuous improvement initiatives, drawing the team together to share best practices across regions and ensure operating and maintenance practices are consistently improved and standardized, including but not limited to maintenance standard work, equipment-specific troubleshooting guides, and installation procedures.
- Responsible for developing and implementing programs to drive technical knowledge from engineers to plant maintenance personnel.
- Accountability for all monthly reporting activity ensuring that the sites and division are appropriately represented.
- This position is responsible for the financial function of the business and as such will perform duties in a financially responsible manner.
- Comply with EHS (Safety, Health, and Environment) policies and country, state, and local legal requirements with support from divisional SHE management.
- Establish measures and ways of working to consistently improve overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
- Taking ownership of maintenance in existing plant facilities and equipment. Ensure maintenance program and processes (CMMS, WO’s, PM’s, Spare Parts, et. Al) are being followed and accurately completed.
- Partner with plant general managers and plant maintenance personnel to evaluate status and replace, or repair plant facilities and equipment when necessary.
- Take the lead on effective and up-to-date training programs for engineering staff, ensuring these are fit for purpose, delivered effectively, and applied consistently. Ensure this training is kept current and complies with retraining schedules.
- Ensure the highest level of internal customer service and communication, i.e. leading regional daily calls with general managers and driving interaction through escalation.
- Plan and execute the annual Technical Risk Assessment schedule performed by the Regional Maintenance Engineers.

- This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
- Technical degree from an accredited university (mechanical/electrical or metallurgical) Disciplined project management experience with equipment-related projects.
- Strong background in hands-on engineering management.
- Must be able to travel domestically, up to 50% percent travel, as required.
- Able to review, understand, and modify technical drawings.
- Experience in installing and maintaining production/process equipment in an industrial metals manufacturing environment. Knowledge of furnaces, blowers, pumps, motors, industrial furnaces, and combustion systems is a plus.
- Experienced in effectively managing teams including specifically driving performance.
- TPS and Lean experience and elements of reliability-centered maintenance are a plus.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with a willingness to document and implement lessons learned.
- Being able to work independently with a strong sense of responsibility, urgency, and commitment.
- Must have a challenging mindset and positive outlook on driving change.
- Strong technically but also solid leadership skills.
- Written and verbal communication skills ability to interpret and report data and trends.
