Summary: Based in Berlin, CT, the Maintenance Supervisor will perform essential job functions relating to all maintenance department issues under minimal supervision by the General Manager.
Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to, the following.
- Responsible for systematic and timely maintenance throughout the plant.
- Responsible for all general maintenance duties, including painting, cleaning, fixture/tooling fabrication, installing belts, bearings, chains, etc.
- Responsible for maintaining plant equipment, including preventative maintenance and new equipment installation.
- Responsible for maintaining available equipment uptime.
- Responsible for building maintenance as needed/required/directed.
- Responsible for the completion of instrument calibration and temperature surveys.
- Supervises and directs all maintenance department employees, including discipline and reviews.
- Promotes and practices safety and good housekeeping procedures.
- Must work in a manner consistent with the EMS.
- Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
- Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
- May have access to compensation information of other employees or applicants in this role and, as such, cannot disclose the pay of other employees or applicants to other individuals.
- This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and, as such, will perform duties safely and responsibly to prevent customer loss or damage.

- This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore, candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
- Education – College or technical degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred; high school or equivalent plus 5 years of industrial maintenance experience required.
- Must have advanced training in electrical experience.
- Must possess the skills to effectively supervise and direct the work of maintenance department employees.
- Must have experience with welding, cutting, brazing, etc., and working knowledge of electricity.
- Must have general knowledge of hydraulics and furnaces and be able to read and interpret blueprints.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operator certification.
- May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends, and be on call as needed.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience of computer applications, including Microsoft Office and databases, is required.

- Must be able to work in an industrial environment at elevated heights and in confined spaces.
- Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and reach to perform functions.
- Ability to move/lift up to 50 lbs.
- May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, humidity, etc.
- Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
- Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
- Ability to hear in person and via phone.
