Description

The Tumor immunology pharmacology in vivo group within Oncology, is seeking a highly motivated, organized, interactive, team-oriented Scientist II to join our Ridgefield, CT team . The successful candidate will develop and execute in vivo and ex vivo experiments in support of company drug discovery goals in an independent manner with extensive trouble shooting skills. The candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of experimental design, the underlying scientific concepts, and have the ability to document/communicate work clearly and concisely.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design, plan and execute murine in vivo tumor experiments in an independent manner to achieve defined objectives. Independently initiate and carry out the studies after receiving alignment from manager.
  • Design and execute in vitro assays to support in vivo work and supplement studies ex vivo.
  • Perform flow cytometry at a basic level to profile and characterize tumors.
  • Draws conclusions from experiments and applies knowledge to interrogate target biology. Independently initiates and rapidly executes next steps.
  • Effectively communicate, document, and maintain meticulous experimental results and protocols in electronic workbooks.
  • Present experimental results and conclusions at team and cross-functional meetings. May give oral presentations at external meetings.
  • Collaborate within the team and work together to lend a hand for large in vivo studies


Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution with three-plus (3 ) years of experience in related scientific discipline or Master's Degree from an accredited institution in related scientific discipline or equivalent experience in related field
  • Strong understanding of animal husbandry and in vivo mouse techniques: tumor implantation, tissue/organ isolation, IP, IV, SC, and oral dosing not under anesthesia. Basic mouse handling and necropsy
  • Basic understanding of immunology assays such as: Flow cytometry, tissue culture, primary immune cell culture, ELISA, RT-qPCR, transfections, and western blots
  • Knowledge in immunology and/or tumor immunology field
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative research environment
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Appropriate level of understanding of applicable regulations


Compensation:

 This position, Scientist II, offers a base salary typically between $75,000.00 and $122,000.00.  The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance based bonus and or other compensation elements. For an overview of our benefits please click here.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
