Position Summary
This position works directly under the supervision of the Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO). The human resources specialist will facilitate and administer in a professional and confidental manner Boerne ISD's human resource processes. They will onboard and guide new employees through the benefits and compensation process while complying with all local, state, and federal regulations for HR. The ideal candidate will be organized, experienced, and a dedicated strategist and planner.

Experience
Prefer a minimum of two years of secretarial/office experience.
Experience in public school is a plus.
Knowledge and Skills
- Proficient word processing and file maintenance skills.
- Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases and word processing.
- Must be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and
- Ability to write and comprehend concise correspondence and emails.
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks often changing direction on short notice with little instruction.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Oversee hiring process, which includes coordinating job postings, reviewing resumes and preparing salary worksheets.
- Process new hires and ensure new hire paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
- Process personnel action forms and ensure proper approval.
- Prepare and maintain employee files both electronic and physical records.
- Ensure new employees feel welcome and part of Boerne ISD family.
- Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions through verbal or written communication.
- Conduct any criminal history checks when required.
- Address employment relations issues, such as work complaints and harrassment allegations and refer to CHRO.
- Responsible for issuing badges and access levels and maintain ID badge software and hardware.
- Provide assistance to applicants, when needed.
Other
Attend professional development programs, faculty meetings, and special events outside of normal business hours as assigned.
