Position Summary
The CTE Elementary STEM and Digital Learning Coordinator I will collaborate with teachers and school leadership to enhance the integration and delivery of Career and Technical Education (CTE), STEM, and Digital Literacy across the elementary school curriculum. This position is responsible for supporting professional development, program vertical alignment, curriculum development, fostering business and industry relationships, overseeing technology and equipment purchases, facilitating Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs), assisting in the managing of student certifications, and conducting program evaluations. The role involves designing and developing student-centered learning experiences and instructional content focused on CTE, STEM, and Digital Learning. Additionally, this role will include researching emerging technologies and providing ongoing support for integrating technology to enhance student learning in CTE and STEM programming.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Texas teaching certification.
- Three (3) years teaching experience.
- Must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the candidate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Curriculum, Educational Technology, Educational Administration, Leadership, or Instructional Design and Technology.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of instructional design principles involving student-centered learning and teaching (Project Based Learning, Blended Learning, Flipped Learning).
- Knowledge of adult learning theories and models, such as problem-based learning, scenario-based training, and mentoring, coupled with technology integration where appropriate.
- Knowledge of Elementary Science, Technology Applications, as well as core content TEKS and concepts.
- Intermediate to advanced skill in the use and navigation of Chromebooks and Chrome OS, as well as G-Suite Applications (Docs, Slides, Sheets, Forms, Classroom, etc).
- Intermediate to advanced skill in the use of Microsoft Office and Office 365 applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Skype, OneDrive, Outlook, and Windows.
- Intermediate to advanced skill in using the web and media-based technologies for education, such as but not limited to G-Suite, Eduphoria!, Discovery Education, ThinkCentral, iStation, Lumio, Clever, etc.
- Regularly evaluate and reflect on their professional practice to improve and strengthen their effectiveness.
- Engage in continual learning to deepen content and pedagogical knowledge in technology integration and current and emerging technologies.
- Ability to work and train on Windows, Google, SMART, and Apple environments.

Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities
- Work with curriculum teams to design and align STEM curricula across grade levels to ensure vertical and horizontal coherence.
- Assist teachers in incorporating STEM practices, such as inquiry, problem-solving, and critical thinking, into their daily instruction.
- Ensure the STEM curriculum is hands-on, engaging, and accessible to all students, promoting creativity, collaboration, and innovation.
- Assist in developing and facilitating the implementation of innovative K-12 STEM curriculum, platforms, and initiatives to support the district's vision and the portrait of a BISD learner, including but not limited to Esports, Project Lead the Way, P-TECH, after-hour campus clubs, competitions, and activities related to STEM, CTE, and Digital Learning.
- Provide direct instructional support to students and staff to enhance technology integration in the classroom, especially related to CTE/STEM programming.
- Design, develop, and present effective campus and district-level staff development on the use of technology-based instruction in the classroom with a focus on technology integration with all staff.
- Lead Campus Technology Coach meetings to share information on technology initiatives and ensure training of campus staff.
- Lead the Digital Citizenship initiative based on the District Technology Advisory Committee recommendations and all that is incorporated within the plan.
- Responsible for leading all relevant training within the District Technology Plan.
- Support Teaching and Learning staff in credentialing, including incorporating student certification preparation materials, online platforms, and exams.
- Monitor and evaluate the implementation of a technology-based curriculum at the campus level with a focus on CTE/STEM and Elementary Science classrooms.
- Assist in the development of content for communication and education to further STEM and Career and Technical Education and Digital Learning initiatives, partnerships, and work-based learning.
- Assist in providing guidance and support for curriculum and technology development within the Elementary Science/STEM classrooms.
- Provide instructional support for classroom mobile devices with a focus on integrating technology.
- Collaborate with co-workers on departmental and district-wide projects.
- Collaborate with the Technology department to ensure proper communication toward seamless technology integration and upgrades.
- Work with the principal(s) and campus committees in planning technology training, implementing technology plans, and selecting instructional equipment and software with a focus on CTE programming and teachers.
- Represent CTE-STEM/Digital Learning in Cybersecurity training and meetings.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional, ethical, and responsible behavior.
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and board policy.
- Comply with all district routines and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the administrator.

- Supervise, evaluate, and recommend hiring/termination of assigned employees.
