Description / Notes : Leads the Student Information Systems department, provides timely and efficient services to all campuses and administrative offices, and operates the office of student information systems consistent with Board Policies, administrative regulations and procedures and within the requirements of regulatory agencies. Coordinates the implementation of the Student Information System and applications which support educational and operational functions. Coordinate the collection and submission of state and federal data to include Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work in collaboration with PEIMS Coordinator to coordinate the collection, integration, and formatting of all data required for TSDS submissions according to Texas Education Data Standards.
- Coordinate verification checks on data to ensure accuracy of information and coordinate processes to correct data integrity issues.
- Coordinate distribution of PEIMS reports to appropriate staff for analysis, verification, and correction.
- Coordinate production of reports and data as needed to comply with public / internal information requests.
- Serve as the student information systems administrator.
- Coordinate student information systems to meet technical and end user requirements.
- Design, maintain, and refine system and technical documentation for district use.
- Design, maintain, and refine ad-hoc, custom reports, and queries.
- Design, maintain, and refine support processes for district information systems and applications.
- Research updates in district information systems and make recommendations for increased efficiency.
- Coordinate necessary configuration and setup of student information systems.
- Attend all regional ESC, TEA, and SIS workshops related to job duties and disseminate information to appropriate staff.
- Work in collaboration with Student Information Systems Coordinator to communicate student information systems and application changes to teachers, staff, parents, and end users.
- Communicate professional development and training opportunities offered for student information systems providers.
- Coordinate with administrative and clerical staff to determine processing needs, clarify requests, develop solutions, and provide technical support for student information systems.
- Work in collaboration with Student Information Systems Integration Coordinator to establish effective and secure data imports, data exports and data management.
- Establish and coordinate processes to correct data integrity issues.
- Oversee the district’s data sharing protocols with external entities, prepare public facing reports and visualizations, and create data solutions.
- Coordinate the configuration and setups of the master schedules and GPA within the Student Information System with campuses and administrative offices.
- Create, maintain, and implement data privacy policies and procedures that comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Create, maintain and track an inventory of all software used in the district.
- Supervise and manage software application integrations, data analytics, and reporting initiatives.
- Assist other technology department staff with user account life cycle management.
- Coordinate and support campuses with hiring, evaluating and training of campus PEIMS staff.
- Work closely with various departments and teams, including finance, human resources, curriculum, and instructional leaders, to ensure compliance and reporting considerations are integrated into all relevant processes and initiatives.
- Ensure District staff are aware and trained on the emergency operation plans specific to reunification procedures utilizing the district’s student information system.
- Assist the Chief Technology Officer with the development and implementation of short and long-range technology initiatives.
- Respond to after-hour emergencies as needed.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications : MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
2 years of experience with Texas school district PEIMS and Student Information Systems.
2 years of progressive leadership experience to include :
Planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and managing employees / teams
Coaching, mentoring, developing, and performance managing employees / teams
Must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the candidate.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
5 years of experience with Texas school district PEIMS and Student Information Systems.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Advanced knowledge of TEA’s Texas Student Data Systems (TSDS), PEIMS reporting, and Student Attendance Accounting Handbook (SAAH).
Knowledge of student systems functions, including attendance, grade reporting, scheduling, discipline, special programs, and others.
Knowledge in district software applications.
Knowledge in data modeling, data extractions and loading, SQL, Excel, and report writing tools.
Knowledge and understanding of relevant regulatory requirements such as the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA).
Ability to develop and deliver professional learning training / activities.
Ability to problem-solve, think critically, and manage conflicts.
Demonstrated proficiency in technology standards, practices, and applications.
Salary Range : Minimum Salary : $380.22 / daily; $85,929.72
Mid-Point Salary : $463.68 / daily; $104,791.68
