Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Legal Assistant at Boffeli & Spannagel, P.C. The Legal Assistant will be responsible for tasks such as legal document preparation, communication, providing administrative assistance, and supporting the attorneys with various legal tasks. Prior experience in the areas of real estate, family law, and probate is preferred.
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
- Office experience (legal office experience preferred).
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, QuickBooks, AI tools (e.g. Chat GPT), and legal software (e.g. LEXIS).
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Familiarity with civil litigation (preferred).
- Proficiency in legal terminology, concepts, and procedures.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, edit, and format legal documents.
- File legal documents with courts and regulatory agencies, both electronically and in person, as required.
- Manage attorneys' calendars, including scheduling meetings, court appearances, and deadlines.
- Maintain and organize client files and legal records in compliance with firm policies.
- Gather relevant case information as needed.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other involved parties.
- Provide general administrative support, including answering phones, managing emails, and handling incoming mail.
