Duties
- Process purchase orders and manage contracts with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular audits to maintain accurate stock records.
- Collaborate with production planning teams to align purchasing activities with production schedules.
- Utilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to forecast inventory needs and streamline procurement processes.
- Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to achieve cost-effective purchasing solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information for reporting purposes.
- Assist in logistics coordination to ensure efficient transportation of materials from suppliers.
- Support the development of inventory control strategies to minimize excess stock and reduce waste.
Requirements
- Proven experience in purchasing or procurement roles, preferably within a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
- Familiarity with MRP systems and production planning processes is highly desirable.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers.
- Proficient in logistics management and supply chain operations.
- Knowledge of contract management and compliance standards related to purchasing activities.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping.
- Proficiency in using software tools such as Edwards or similar ERP systems is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple tasks effectively.
