What are the responsibilities and job description for the Winter Lift Access Gate Attendant position at BOGUS BASIN RECREATIONAL ASSOCIATION INC?
Description
The Lift Access position is responsible for the daily set up and tear down of lift mazes, assisting guests through scanner gates, fraud prevention, maintaining an orderly lift line, and directing guests, while providing quality customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
- Assume responsible charge of the lift lines
- Maintain maze areas to standards
- Able to confidently and clearly communicate to a large crowd of guests
- Check tickets and passes, and assist with any issues that arise
- Use a tablet or computer to recognize fraudulent or misuse of tickets and passes and take appropriate action
- Advise and assist guests using the lift
- Maintain orderly passenger traffic within lift area
- Immediately inform Lift Supervisor or Manager of any condition or occurrence which may adversely affect the safety of the operation
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
- Assist in mountain rescue efforts, if necessary
- Perform other related tasks, as necessary
- Present a professional and positive image of the company while interacting with guests and other Bogus Basin employees
Requirements
- Passionate about Bogus Basin’s Mission
- Ability to stand, balance, walk, and reach with hands and arms
- Ability to use hand tools including a drill, rake, pulaski, shovel, and broom
- Ability to occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch
- Ability to frequently and repeatedly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and may be required to lift up to 35 pounds above shoulder level
- Ability to occasionally lift 50 lbs. or more
- Ability to stand up to 8 hours a day
- Must be at least 16 years of age
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Majority of time spent in an outdoor environment
- Position is regularly exposed to inclement weather
- Vibration and noise are present in the work environment
PERSONAL APPEARANCE:
- When in the public eye, your personal appearance is an important part of the product we offer our guests. You should come to work neatly groomed and in uniform. In addition to the uniform jacket, lift operators need the following equipment:
- Black ski or snowboard pants
- Gloves or mittens, durable and in good repair
- Helmet and eyewear
- Thermal wear, sufficient clothing for warmth
- Appropriate equipment for alpine skiing/snowboarding that is up-to-date, in good repair and in safe working condition
