Role Overview
The Global Purchasing Director plays a critical role in driving business growth by establishing and executing on procurement strategies, goals, and initiatives. This position requires a seasoned procurement professional with expertise in negotiating contracts, maintaining vendor scorecards, and ensuring compliance with Federal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with cross-functional teams to develop and implement procurement strategies
- Lead purchasing efforts for packaging and commodity materials sourced from global vendors
- Negotiate contracts to secure the best possible quality, value, and service
- Monitor and maintain vendor scorecards to optimize supplier performance
- Ensure compliance with Federal requirements (e.g., FDA) and industry regulations
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A BS/BA degree and 8 years of business experience, with at least 3 years leading direct and indirect procurement from domestic and international markets
- Purchasing experience in an FDA-compliant setting (e.g., food & beverage, nutritional, personal care, or OTC pharmaceutical)
- Ability to travel up to 15% for domestic and global meetings
