As a Bridge Engineer (PE) in our Structures Engineering Group, you will leverage your expertise in preparing design plans, reports and other project-related documents, coordinating the review and approval of the design documents with relevant agencies, managing time and staff resources to adhere to schedule and budget constraints, working with and managing contracts for private and public clients, preparing bid documents, preparing quantity estimates, and facilitating agency approvals. With regard to marketing and business development, the job may occasionally require the preparation of proposals along with assistance in marketing efforts including occasional attendance at local and regional conferences.
Your Role & Responsibilities
In this role, you will lead and contribute to:
- Project Management & Leadership -Working with and managing contracts for private and public clients.
- Engineering Design & Modeling - Preparing design plans, reports and other project-related documents.
- Client Interaction & Relationship Building - Coordinating the review and approval of the design documents with relevant agencies.
- Subject Matter Expertise - Managing time and staff resources to adhere to schedule and budget constraints.
- Cost Estimating - Preparing bid documents, preparing quantity estimates, and facilitating agency approvals.
- Marketing and business development -- the job may occasionally require the preparation of proposals along with assistance in marketing efforts including occasional attendance at local and regional conferences.
What We Are Looking For
- You have graduated with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
- You have 3 or more years of proven experience in Structural Engineering and PE licensure.
- You must be a US citizen and able to acquire security clearances needed for our existing government contracts.
- You have experience providing bridge engineering and construction plan production.
- You have experience in AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specification for application of design principles and development of design plans.
- You have experience with the 2015 International Building Codes and all major referenced design standards thereto.
- You have experience providing engineering design services pursuant to industry-based quality assurance plans.
- You have familiarity with DOT bridge design guidelines and standards (preferred).
- You have experience in Risa3D, AutoCAD, Civil3D, OpenBridge Designer, AASHTOWare and 3D analysis software such as Risa3D (preferred).
- You have strong organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, ability to problem solve, supervision of staff and work, as well as the ability to mentor and train less experienced engineers.
- You have project management skills with a strong focus on quality and documentation.
