Accounts Receivable Clerk
Reports to: Assistant Controller
Supervises: No supervisory duties are included in this position.
Classification: Non-exempt
Education and/or Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
- One-year certificate from college or technical school or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
- Ability to operate computer and other general office equipment.
- Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles.
Job Summary (Essential Functions)
Responsible for the Members Accounts Receivable accounting functions
Job Tasks/Duties
- Maintains members’ records and accounts.
- Daily posting of all POS transactions.
- Daily posting to member’s account all check payments.
- Daily upload of all lockbox member payment to Jonas Accounting System
- Daily upload of all website member payment to Jonas Accounting System.
- Daily posting of members check payments.
- Daily reconciliation of all the NSF checks and misapplied payments
- Prepares and mails member charges and statements and processes monthly billings.
- Upload to AR any additional member billings (Monthly, Quarterly and special events charges)
- Prepares deposits and processes members’ payments on their accounts.
- Generate month end delinquency report.
- Responds to member billing inquiries within a 24-hour period.
- Coordinates the resolution of member disputes with the appropriate department head and the member.
- Audits, all AR charges are completed and posted before the month end.
- Perform month end close for Accounts Receivable.
- Attend departmental and club training meetings.
- Completes other appropriate assignments made by the Assistant Controller.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must be able to reach, bend, stop, stand and lift up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Moderate noise level in the work environment.
