Job Type: Full-time (Hourly/Non-Exempt)

Full time Location: Working in Allen, Putnam, Paulding and Van Wert counties in OH.

Reports directly to: Service Manager - Equipment

Job Purpose: THIS POSITION WORKS IS TARGETED TO WORK IN THE FOLLOWING OHIO COUNTIES: ALLEN, PAULDING, PUTNAM and VAN WERT

The Forklift Service Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing routine maintenance on forklifts and other material handling equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently. Works with internal company departments, fellow technicians and customers to ensure work is completed in a timely manner that reflects the standards and quality expectations of the Bohl Equipment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Diagnostic and Repair: Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on various types of forklifts.
• Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure forklifts are operating safely and efficiently.
• Equipment Upkeep: Conduct repairs on engines, transmissions, drive units, brakes, and other components as needed.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with all Federal, State and Local safety standards and regulations.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, including parts used and labor hours.
• Customer Service: Interact with clients to understand equipment issues and provide clear communication about repairs and maintenance.
• Tool Management: Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Training: Stay updated with the latest industry practices and participate in ongoing training programs.
• Authority to stop production in the event unsafe parts or conditions appear.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor and/or Manager, which may be outside the scope of responsibilities noted above.

Position Requirements:

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

• 2 years experience in a mechanical environment required.

Required Skills:

• Must have good organization and planning skills, and be able to demonstrate effective project coordination, facilitation, and implementation of past work.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean DMV record.
• Operate a company issued vehicle and be accountable for the inventory contained within.
• Mechanical aptitude (working mechanical experience a plus).
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems a plus.
• Must provide own tools.
• Basic computer skill required including: email, online manuals, web searches, etc.
• Must be willing to learn and open to continued education/ training.
• Must pass background check and be able to work in a drug free environment.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Travel Requirements:

• Up to 50% of daily 8 hour shift required driving (to customers)

Performance Goals: Must meet or exceed daily duties/ responsibilities/ requirements to ensure the success of the Service Department

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 - $35.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
