Full time Location: Sandusky - Clyde - Norwalk, OH area

Job Purpose: THIS POSITION WORKS IN THE CLYDE/SANDUSKY/NORWALK AREAS

The Forklift Service Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing routine maintenance on forklifts and other material handling equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Diagnostic and Repair: Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on various types of forklifts.
• Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure forklifts are operating safely and efficiently.
• Equipment Upkeep: Conduct repairs on engines, transmissions, drive units, brakes, and other components as needed.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, including parts used and labor hours.
• Customer Service: Interact with clients to understand equipment issues and provide clear communication about repairs and maintenance.
• Tool Management: Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Training: Stay updated with the latest industry practices and participate in ongoing training programs.
• Authority to stop production in the event unsafe parts or conditions appear.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor and/or Manager, which may be outside the scope of responsibilities noted above.

Position Requirements:

• Education:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience:
• 2 years experience in a mechanical environment required.
• Required Skills:
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in forklift repair is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in forklift maintenance and repair.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Licenses/Certifications: Forklift Technician Certification is a plus.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
• Valid driver’s license and clean DMV record.
• Must provide own tools.
• Basic computer skill required including: email, online manuals, web searches, etc.
• Must be willing to learn and open to continued education/ training.
• Must pass background check and be able to work in a drug free environment.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Travel Requirements:
• 75% of daily 8 hour shift required driving (to customers)

Performance Goals: Must meet or exceed daily duties/ responsibilities/ requirements to ensure the success of the Service Department

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 - $37.25 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
