- Ensures equipment is running properly after turning on power and notifies the lead person or Supervisor of any mechanical problems
- Ensures all logs to be sawn are up against log stop
- Maintains a clean and organized work area
- Follows the guidelines for grooming/debarking logs
- Ensures consistent bark flow through conveyors to the boilers
- Helps correct problems if vat tender is not kicking logs in the vats
- Assist with maintenance when needed
- Keeps cull blocks cleaned up off yard
- Sweeps up veneer and sawdust with a push broom
- Picks up scraps of veneer with shovel, rake or by hand
- Uses down time as clean up time
- Follows Company policies, procedures and safety rules
