Responsibilities
- Manage and direct all overseas purchasing activities within the Global Sourcing branch.
- Determine appropriate product lines, screen and select overseas vendors, monitor vendor performance.
- Negotiate favorable payment terms, pricing and provide logistics support for inbound product.
- Provide BMD locations with product quotes, issue Global Sourcing purchase orders / sales orders.
- Monitor changes and milestone dates of Global Sourcing orders.
- Ensure all Global Sourcing activities are in full compliance with US Customs and international law.
- Monitor trade cases and rulings (Antidumping & Countervailing Duties) pertaining to products sourced through Global Sourcing branch from overseas manufacturers.
- Work closely with BMD location sales team and management to develop custom programs, block and special buys, promotions and product support.
- Monitor receipt of rebates and special discounts to ensure vendor compliance.
- Identify new product opportunities and design sourcing strategies.
- Develop and grow new relationships with overseas vendors, maintain good working relationships with existing vendors.
- Provide guidance to BMD locations through market information updates and following industry news to collect market intelligence.
- Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: College Degree or equivalent work experience in related job function. Working conditions are an office environment with minimal physical exertion.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in international trade / purchasing. Knowledge of international logistics and trade lanes. Process knowledge around importer of record requirements. Fluent in English and Mandarin.
