We are seeking an experience Wine Shop Receiver who organizes and processes incoming wine freight to ensure accountability for receiving paperwork and maintenance of inventory including proper stock levels. Maintains good working relationships and rapport with suppliers, delivery drivers and patrons while providing courteous and excellent customer service.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop and maintain procedures for receiving including applicable signatures and invoice processing protocols.
  • Receive all deliveries at the Wine Shop or ensure proper receiving by other staff.
  • Review invoices and purchasing order worksheets for item and pricing accuracy. Commit all balanced and accurate Purchase Order worksheets in Catapult and scan all committed invoices into OnBase.
  • Work with monthly New Item worksheets provided by Data Entry for entering all new items and/or suppliers. Create Price & Cost Change worksheets for all items received that need updated cost and/or retail pricing. Print updated tags for the shelves and stacks.
  • Work with Wine Shop Manager and Specialty Buyer to price buy-in and specialty wines.
  • Maintain accurate inventory to the best of your ability by figuring out and fixing any discrepancies upon receiving and doing periodic inventory spot checks.
  • Assist in maintaining overall back-stock and receiving area organization.
  • Assist with special orders and communicate with suppliers, drivers and co-workers to ensure they are being taken care of and customers are being taken care of in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with distributors for product returns and proper credit and paperwork.
  • Make sure that all wines without UPC’s are properly tagged before hitting the floor and/or shelves.
  • Assist with merchandising, stocking and rotating inventory.
  • Maintain a good and respectful relationship with vendors, suppliers and delivery drivers.
  • Manage transfer of inventory between wine shop and other stores and In Store transfers for events and wine club.
  • Attends all department meetings and maintains respectful communication with co-workers.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Able to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department including evenings and weekends.
  • Practice behaviors that exhibit a strong work ethic and encourage teamwork.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to follow instructions and complete work in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to scheduled shifts and be ready for work when shift begins.
  • Ability to consistently be at work and on time.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Wine industry and management of wine inventory experience preferred.
  • Retail experience preferred.
  • Must successfully pass criminal background check.
  • Experience with Point-of-Sale systems preferred.

 

Physical Demands:

Sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a grocery setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight, up to 50lbs; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

 

Working Environment:

Work is performed primarily in a grocery store setting with extensive public contact and frequent interruptions.
