WHO WE ARE
The Boise Co-op has come a long way since 1973, when a group of health-conscious neighbors kicked things off as a humble food-buying club. Today, we’re a bustling, independent Co-op with over 50,000 active Co-Owners, two grocery stores (North End The Village at Meridian), and three specialty gems nestled in our North End hub: the Wine Shop, Pet Shop, and Uncorked Wine Bar.
We’re more than a grocery store—we’re your local hangout, your go-to for good food and great wine, and your partner in building a stronger community. We believe in education, connection, and products you can trust. We're here because we care—about food, about people, and about making Boise a better place.
WHO YOU ARE
You love talking wine and helping people discover their new favorite bottle. Whether it’s chatting with customers, stocking shelves, or keeping things clean and organized, you're all in. You’re dependable, curious, and bring good energy wherever you go.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a Wine Shop Sales Associate, you’ll be the friendly face of our wine department. Your day-to-day will include:
-
Delivering world-class customer service with a smile (and maybe a tasting note or two).
-
Merchandising, rotating stock, and keeping displays looking sharp.
-
Running the register and handling transactions with accuracy and care.
-
Staying up to speed on wine knowledge (and state regulations around selling it).
-
Supporting special orders, product returns, and wine events.
-
Helping keep the wine bar/event center clean and inviting.
-
Attending department meetings and tastings to stay informed and inspired.
-
Pitching in wherever needed—and doing it with a team-first attitude.
WHAT YOU BRING
-
A working knowledge of wine and a passion for sharing it.
-
Retail or customer service experience (bonus if it’s in wine!).
-
Comfort using a cash register and handling cash/credit transactions.
-
A reliable, self-motivated work ethic and flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
-
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and be on your feet for most of your shift.
REQUIREMENTS
-
High School diploma or equivalent.
-
Must pass a criminal background check.
-
Willingness to wear the required uniform and follow food safety/sanitation standards.
THE VIBE
We work in a fun, fast-paced environment with lots of customer interaction and the occasional wine tasting (ok, maybe more than occasional). Expect a mix of hustle, heart, and collaboration—with plenty of opportunity to learn and grow along the way.
Ready to join a place where wine, people, and purpose all come together? Come be a part of something special at the Boise Co-op.
