Job Summary: The Shop Support Specialist will work closely with the Shop Foreman to ensure smooth daily operations, assist in quality control, perform basic equipment maintenance, and contribute to the successful completion of various shop projects. This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail, a hands-on approach, and a willingness to learn and adapt to different tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes, including inspecting fabricated parts and ensuring they meet specifications.
- Conduct routine equipment checks and perform minor maintenance tasks to prevent downtime.
- Help coordinate and execute shop projects, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
- Organize and maintain shop tools, materials, and work areas for efficiency and safety.
- Support the foreman with scheduling, work order tracking, and inventory management.
- Assist in training and guiding shop personnel on best practices and safety procedures.
- Communicate effectively with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve shop workflow.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall efficiency and success of the shop.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience in metal fabrication, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of quality control processes and tools..
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft (Office, Excel, and Outlook)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings is a plus.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on environment with a proactive mindset.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new responsibilities as needed.
