Job Description:
This position is responsible for obtaining accurate measurements, fabricating custom railing and various other projects. It requires knowledge of the whole manufacturing process enabling rotation through all departments as needed.
Responsibilities Include:
- Interprets customer and process prints to produce rail or assembly to customer requirements.
- Verifies material and component type and quantity before use.
- Organizes time to meet production schedule requirements.
- Performs daily and weekly machine maintenance activities.
- Maintains a clean, safe and unobstructed work area
- Able to set-up and operate MIG weld equipment.
- Assists team members with set-up and operation.
- Improves the quality of product and or processes through improving fixtures and or tooling applications.
- Skilled at laying out a rail on their table.
- Inspects and approves work prior to sending to the next operation.
- Completes all required company paperwork.
- Measure completed work pieces to verify conformance to specifications, using gauges, calipers, templates, or tape measures.
- Load and unload material as needed using a forklift.
- Knowledge and operation of welding equipment, hand tools, power tools and production equipment
- Reading and interpreting fabrication/welding specifications from text, drawings and CAD drawings
Requirements:
- Ability to read and understand the process flow.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Knows proper measurement techniques.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the fabrication of sheet metal structures
- Mathematical skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, fractions and using a tape measure.
Qualifications:
- Ability to complete a Fab and Fit-Up test during the interview process
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.

The Laborer has a physically strenuous and demanding job. He/she will be lifting, pulling, hammering and laboring, and can include lifting up to 75-100 lbs. The Laborer will have to work in all weather, and must be prepared for both extreme heat and cold. The Laborer must ensure that all activities are completed in a safe and efficient way.
Environmental Conditions

The Laborer must work outside in all different weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat. He/she may at times be exposed to dangerous and/or toxic substances and must take necessary precautions to protect eyes, nose and skin from irritation and infection.
