Boise Rescue Mission Ministries is looking for men and women who love Jesus and want to help give homeless individuals a safe and stable place to get a new start in life.
The Administrative Assistant must hold to the doctrine and constitution/by-laws of the Mission. They must be regular attendees of a local church and be willing to sign and adhere to the Mission’s Statement of Faith.
Job Summary: The Rescue Mission currently has a full-time position available working as an administrative assistant at our Resource Center on the City Light campus in Boise.
Details:
- Reports to – Education Director
- Facility – Resource Center (1415 W. Jefferson St., Boise, ID)
- Hours – full time (40 hours per week) Monday – Friday / 8:00am – 4:30pm
- This position may require occasional evenings and weekends outside of normal work hours.
Skills and Abilities Needed:
- The Administrative Assistant needs to be organized, have a high level of thoroughness, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills both verbally and written are required. Confident talking on the phone.
- A self-starter and asks questions when needed.
- Must be able to follow instructions carefully.
- A team-player with superior interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- The ability to multitask and prioritize a number of projects to meet deadlines.
- Work independently, make informed decisions, solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
- Research skills on a variety of topics and will help to implement ideas.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License, a clean driving record, and must meet driver eligibility criteria.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required. A college degree is not required but highly recommended.
- Database experience (queries, data entry, etc.) is recommended but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook, internet research with Intermediate typing skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attend meetings as required.
- Attain CPR Certification training that is required Mission wide.
- Attain certifications and training as opportunities become available. Participation in Mission-wide events.
Administrative Duties
- Data Entry in multiple databases for both the city and the Mission. Data entry must be accurate and completed on time. Provides reports as needed.
- Works on cleaning up databases and communicating errors to management.
- Reception duties like answering phones and the front door, filing, etc.
- Running errands including interdepartmental mail to different facilities, as well as dropping off mail at the post office.
- Ordering office supplies and other items as requested.
- Keep Resource Center clean and tidy. Oversee NLP programmers who are assigned to help clean.
- Works with the Learning Center Team to prepare materials and curriculum for programs and classes.
- Keep the building secure.
- Help to organize clothing rooms in the different buildings.
- Have flexibility and a willingness to take on other responsibilities as needed to support the work of the Mission.
