Boka Restaurant Group and the Chicago Athletic Association are currently seeking Banquet Line Cooks to join their team!
The Banquet Line Cook position requires good communication and culinary skills. The ideal candidate for this position will have at least two years of previous line or relevant cooking experience. Background in banquets and catering setting is also a plus. The banquet line cook must have a flexible schedule, as events take place in both the AM and PM, and schedules will reflect that. The banquet line cook should also be comfortable prepping and assisting the chef team with events such as plate ups, buffets, receptions, and weddings.

Banquet Line Cook's Responsibilities:
- Assist in food preparation adhering to chef’s specs for events.
- Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards at all times.
- Ensure safe food handling procedures are used at all times.
- Report to Banquet chef and Banquet sous chefs.
- Accurately read BEO’s to understand upcoming events.
- Accurately follow and complete prep lists.
- Assist with In Room Dining if needed.
- Have a flexible schedule that can coordinate with event schedules.
- Have thorough knowledge of knife cuts, sauces, soups, protein cookery, and basic cooking and plating techniques.
- Efficient in following timelines.
- Demonstrates cleanliness, abides by company’s uniform and grooming policies.
Qualifications:
- Hardworking
- High volume kitchen experience
- Food handlers' certification
- Flexible schedule

Physical Requirements:
- Lift and move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Safely and effectively use all necessary tools, equipment, and cleaning chemicals
- Stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant which may include stairs, uneven, and/or slick surfaces
- Ability to bear exposure to hot and cold environment
