Boka Restaurant Group, in partnership with Nordstrom, is currently seeking Regional Directors of Operations to join our team!

We are currently looking for Regional Directors in: NYC, LA, Chicago, Miami, and Seattle.

The Regional Director of Operations will oversee food and beverage (F&B) operations for Nordstrom restaurants and coffee bars, ensuring alignment with Boka Restaurant Group’s (BRG) standards of excellence. This role requires strategic leadership, performance management, and effective partnership with Nordstrom to drive success across multiple outlets. The Regional Director will lead initiatives to deliver outstanding guest experiences, ensure operational efficiency, and maintain financial and brand performance.

Regional Director of Operation's Responsibilities:

Leadership

A strong leader in this role will drive the operational and financial success of Nordstrom’s restaurants and coffee bars while fostering productive partnerships with Nordstrom management. Key responsibilities include:

• Strategic Oversight: Provide guidance and direction for Nordstrom’s F&B operations, ensuring alignment with BRG standards and goals.
• Performance Management: Develop and implement performance checks across all locations, ensuring adherence to KPIs such as revenue growth, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
• Brand Representation: Act as the primary BRG representative, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration with Nordstrom leadership and operations teams.
• Operational Excellence: Lead quarterly business reviews to assess performance metrics, address operational challenges, and plan improvements.
• Crisis Management: Serve as the escalation point for critical issues, ensuring swift resolution in partnership with Nordstrom teams.

Financial Performance

The Regional Director will be accountable for achieving financial targets across Nordstrom F&B operations. Responsibilities include:

• Budget Oversight: Partner with Nordstrom leadership to develop and manage budgets, ensuring profitability for all outlets.
• Forecasting and Reporting: Provide accurate financial forecasts and prepare P&L reports to evaluate performance.
• Cost Controls: Identify and implement strategies to manage labor, food, and beverage costs while maintaining quality standards.
• Revenue Optimization: Collaborate with Nordstrom’s teams to drive sales through strategic initiatives, special events, and menu enhancements.

Technology Platform Oversight

The Regional Director will ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of technology platforms across all outlets to drive operational efficiency and support KPI goals. Responsibilities include:

• Platform Implementation: Oversee the rollout of technology platforms, ensuring proper setup and functionality.
• Maintenance and Updates: Monitor and maintain technology systems to support labor tracking, COGS analysis, and other operational needs.
• Integration with KPIs: Ensure technology platforms are aligned with labor, COGS, and other financial metrics to optimize performance.
• Training and Support: Work with Nordstrom teams to provide training and ongoing support for technology usage.

Partner Communications

As the liaison between Boka and Nordstrom, the Regional Director will ensure effective communication and alignment. Responsibilities include:

• Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong relationships with Nordstrom’s regional and corporate leadership teams, aligning on goals and priorities.
• Performance Feedback: Conduct regular meetings with Nordstrom to review operational performance, guest satisfaction scores, and financial outcomes.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with Nordstrom’s HR, marketing, and facilities teams to address operational needs and implement initiatives.
• Brand Standards: Ensure Boka’s culinary, service, and operational standards are consistently upheld across all Nordstrom outlets.

Operational Responsibilities

The Regional Director will oversee and manage the performance of all F&B locations, focusing on high-level strategy and execution. Employee-level responsibilities will fall under Nordstrom management. Key operational responsibilities include:

• Concept Consistency: Ensure that the dining concepts and coffee bars reflect Nordstrom and Boka’s brand identity and quality expectations.
• Quality Assurance: Implement regular performance and quality audits, ensuring compliance with Boka’s culinary and service standards.
• Training & Development: Collaborate with Nordstrom to provide high-level training and support for their teams on brand standards and operational excellence.
• Guest Experience: Analyze guest feedback and reviews, ensuring continuous improvement in service and culinary offerings.
• New Projects: Partner with Nordstrom and Boka’s development team to oversee new restaurant openings or coffee bar refreshes, managing milestones and deliverables.
• Menu and Product Sourcing: Collaborate with regional culinary directors and culinary teams to ensure menu consistency and alignment with Boka’s quality standards. Oversee product sourcing strategies to maintain quality and cost efficiency.

Collaboration and Support

The Regional Director will work closely with cross-functional teams within BRG and Nordstrom. Specific responsibilities include:

• Marketing Initiatives: Partner with Nordstrom’s marketing team to align on campaigns, promotions, and branding strategies.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure all operations meet health, safety, and labor compliance requirements.
• Facilities Oversight: Provide high-level guidance for Nordstrom’s facilities management, ensuring upkeep and maintenance meet operational needs.
• Data-Driven Insights: Leverage operational data and guest feedback to provide actionable insights for improvement.

Travel Requirements

This role requires regular travel to Nordstrom locations to conduct on-site visits, performance reviews, and team support. Travel will be strategized and scheduled to maximize efficiency and ensure consistent oversight of all F&B operations. [A target will be established by region to memorialize number of store visits required per year, respectively.]

Performance Checks

A critical function of this role is to establish and manage performance evaluations to maintain consistency and success across all Nordstrom outlets. Responsibilities include:

• KPI Reviews: Conduct regular evaluations of key metrics, including revenue, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
• On-Site Visits: Perform regular site visits to assess performance, provide coaching, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Quarterly Business Reviews: Lead strategic reviews to discuss results, challenges, and future objectives with Nordstrom leadership.

Physical Requirements: 

• Lift and move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds 
• Safely and effectively use all necessary tools, equipment, and cleaning chemicals 
• Stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant which may include stairs, uneven, and/or slick surfaces 
• Ability to bear exposure to hot and cold environment

Salary : $165,000 - $195,000
