Job Description:
As a Medical Assistant at Bokhari Medical Consortium, you’ll play an essential role in supporting our psychiatric providers and offering direct assistance to our patients. This is a unique opportunity to work in a psychiatric setting where you’ll assist with clinical and administrative tasks, while maintaining a compassionate approach to mental health care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Support: Greet and prepare patients for appointments, take vital signs, update medical histories, and address basic patient concerns.
- Clinical Assistance: Assist with psychiatric evaluations and procedures, including managing intake information and supporting the mental health team during consultations.
- Administrative Tasks: Handle patient scheduling, maintain patient records, process insurance information, and manage correspondence.
- Patient Education: Provide patients with instructions regarding medications, follow-up care, and any other relevant mental health information as directed by providers.
- Lab Work & Testing: Collect specimens (if required), administer point-of-care tests, and track lab results.
- Office Management: Ensure that the office is clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary medical supplies.
- Communication: Liaise with other medical professionals, coordinate patient care, and follow up with patients to ensure smooth treatment progress.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) is a plus but not required.
- Previous experience in a medical or psychiatric setting is highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, non-judgmental attitude toward mental health.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of psychiatric terminology and treatment protocols.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) is a plus.
- Must be comfortable working in a team-oriented environment and support patients with a variety of mental health conditions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
