Project Engineer: Will act as engineering technical support for the Design and Construction staff by applying HVAC equipment, HVAC control systems and preparing technical submittals for major construction contracts.
Essential Duties:
- Prepare control system submittals on Trane and vendor products by reviewing plans, specs, addendums.
- Prepare resubmittals with comment/response forms and equipment changes as needed.
- Complete table of conformance and/or compile a list of clarifications/exclusions.
- Coordinate factory-mounted controls on equipment where applicable.
- Compare final pricing to pricing at which the job was closed and discuss price changes with salesperson and estimator.
- Communicate any discrepancies on plans/specs with pricing with Engineering or Contractor salesperson.
- Track start date, completion dates, and hours spent working on each project.
- Provide timely, cost-effective engineering of control system projects utilizing proprietary computer aided drafting program (Trane: CSET) to meet department and client expectations.
- Develop and design a control system package, including drawings, table of conformance, point lists, material selection, valve/damper/material cutsheets, for project design engineer approval.
- Submit 'Request For Information' (RFI) documentation concerning design questions requiring resolution from project design engineer.
- Provide technical support to project managers, field technicians and other members of the department.
- Complete as-built drawings provided by project manager.
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education & experience
- Strong computer software skills, able to learn CAD style design software
- Excellent communication skills, team player, pro-active, detail oriented
- Able to work well independently and in team environment
- Preferred knowledge of HVAC systems and experience with installation
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Primarily workstation with computer activities
- Willing to travel locally as required
- Mobility within the office and job sites

Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
