Bold Music Lessons is on a mission to become the premier music lesson provider in the Southeast. Formed in 2013, Bold Music is a local startup that is focused on providing top-tier in-home music instruction to students throughout our service areas (currently Charlotte, Raleigh, Atlanta and Greensboro / Winston Salem). We hire talented local musicians and set them up with high paying, consistent and fulfilling work teaching private music lessons. We also provide various other types of music related programming, and are guided by our Core Values : Teacher First, Relationship Driven, Always Improving, Exceptional Service, and Community.
Why do we need a Director of Sales and Enrollments?
We need a Director of Sales and Enrollments in order to provide excellent customer experience, and in order to continue to grow our small business. Currently, sales and enrollment accountability is held by our CEO, and that is preventing him from being fully devoted to scaling and improving the business.
Who might this person(s) be?
This person must be passionate about working for a small but mighty team. This person must live by the following mantra : “Be a positive difference-maker in people’s days.” They must be able to empathize and connect with our Ideal Customer Persona (ICP) - affluent parents with multiple kids, who are busy and value convenience (concierge-level service) over price. They must be a self-starter who takes pride in keeping their word, and must enjoy solving problems instead of shying away from them. This person must be excellent in written and spoken communication, organized, and digitally / tech proficient.
Day to Day - The day to day activities associated with this role involve the following :
- Field inbound leads and convert them into enrolled students.
- Reassign current students as needed (i.e. when an instructor leaves / gets fired, or is not matched correctly).
- Track and manage leads through HubSpot or other CRM tools to ensure all follow-ups and conversions are documented.
- Engage daily with potential clients through phone, email, and text to drive enrollment and maintain high levels of customer engagement.
- Implement outbound activities including (but not limited to) calling previously enrolled students, following up on past leads, and building email marketing campaigns to attract potential customers in our database.
- Identify prospects and sell our preschool music program (Junior Jammers) to new partner preschools.
- Collaborate with the management team to refine messaging and improve sales processes.
- Administrative and miscellaneous help when needed. We are a small team and everyone must chip in!

How will we measure success for this role? Be specific.
The overarching measurement for success in this role is achieving / beating our target conversion percentage on a month by month basis for ICP leads, and growing our overall active student count. In addition, we will measure success by tracking inbound and outbound sales activity.
How much value is reasonable to expect from the ideal person thriving in this role? How much money will they generate or save the business?
The Director of Sales and Enrollments should create tangible value from their focused efforts. They will be primarily responsible for increasing our active student count, which is by far the biggest revenue driver of the business. In focusing directly on those efforts, they will also free up the CEO and other management team members for focus on their respective roles, increasing labor efficiency across the company.
