Position Summary:
As an Associate Strategy Director, you will play a critical role in developing innovative, customer-centric strategies that span digital experiences and go-to-market initiatives.
This role requires a balance of strategic thinking, research-driven insights, and hands-on execution to craft intelligent and actionable strategies for our clients. You will collaborate
across teams, translating complex business challenges into clear, effective solutions that drive engagement, conversion, and brand differentiation.
You will focus on website and digital experience as well as brand creation and go-to-market strategies, ensuring that clients have the strategic direction needed to optimize
their customer journeys from awareness to conversion to retention. This position is ideal for an experienced strategist who can independently lead projects while still being involved
in the day-to-day development of the work.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Intake client business challenges and opportunities and translate them into a well-defined approach or project plan that delivers on their objectives
- Lead the end-to-end development of strategy projects such as:
- website and digital experience strategies
- brand creation and value prop development
- campaigns and go-to-market plans
- CRM implementations and optimizations
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams, including Creative, Design, UX, Analytics, and Technology, to ensure the strategic vision is seamlessly executed
- Work collaboratively with client services/account management teams to understand business goals and align strategy deliverables accordingly
- Ability to lead senior-level client conversations related to how we approach and deliver our work, giving them the “why” behind the “what”
- Translate research, industry trends, competitive analysis, and data insights into compelling strategic recommendations
- Map customer journeys and experiences, identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research, including stakeholder interviews, surveys, 3rd-party tools like SEMRush or MRI Simmons, and usability testing
- Advocate for user-centered design methodologies and incorporate a human-centered POV into strategic planning
- Stay ahead of emerging industry trends, digital innovations, and marketing technology advancements to bring forward strategic recommendations
- Create and deliver compelling presentations and strategic storytelling in PowerPoint, Miro, and other tools
- Manage and mentor junior strategists, fostering professional growth and development
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or equivalent certifications/work experience
- 6-9 years relevant work experience in digital marketing, customer experience, brand strategy or content strategy roles - Previous agency or consultancy experience required
- The Bold Orange strategy team is both wide and deep. Ideal candidates will have strong knowledge and focus in one of these areas and working knowledge in at least one more
- Digital experience strategy, content strategy, website optimization, UX principles and SEO
- Creative and go-to-market strategy, integrated campaign creation, execution, measurement, and reporting
- Martech strategy and platform expertise (e.g. Salesforce, Hubspot) including implementations and optimizations, and the creation or modification of journeys, segments, campaigns, etc.
- Comfortable working in cross-functional teams that require deep collaboration with designers, analysts, developers, marketers, and more
- Experience in a “lead” role on an account or with a client, encompassing strategic leadership at both the project and account level
- Ability to understand data and research findings and tease out insights that go beyond simple reporting; we are the storytellers that paint the picture and design the roadmap
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience and interest working with leading marketing technology platforms, such as:
- Site analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics)
- Customer research and testing tools (Survey Monkey, Qualtrics, etc.)
- Marketing automation tools (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Experience Manager, HubSpot)
- Experience designing, scoping, and executing projects for client based on their inputs and objectives
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment
- Curiosity for new platforms and desire to “jump in”
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the use of tools like PowerPoint, Figma, Miro, etc.
Salary Range: Final compensation is anticipated to be $100 – $140k in the Greater Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN area and will vary widely depending on the ideal hires skills and
experience at the time of hire.

Salary : $100,000 - $140,000
