What are the responsibilities and job description for the Software Engineer - Ruby on Rails position at Bold Penguin, Inc?
YOUR ROLE
You’ll work as part of a cross-functional product team to build & launch products that remove the friction from commercial insurance. Your users will be commercial insurance agents and insurance carriers who will use your work every day to efficiently provide commercial insurance for small business owners.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build and maintain powerful APIs that will be used by agents to quote and bind policies for small business owners.
- Write clean, well-tested code and automated unit tests using Ruby / Ruby on Rails.
- Participate in agile ceremonies such as iteration planning, retrospective, and daily stand-ups.
- Work with product managers, designers, site-reliability engineers, and customers to build powerful, impactful products.
- Be a passionate, delivery-focused member of the product team who is able to build resilient, high-quality features.
- Integrate with third party APIs to generate real-time quotes.
- Participate in the full lifecycle of the software development life cycle from ideation to delivery.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
