Job Overview: Custodian
Bolder Industries Maryville is seeking a highly motivated and capable Custodian to join the team at our advanced manufacturing facility. The Custodian is responsible for ensuring our office and manufacturing floor and all workspaces are kept as clean as possible, organized, and tidy to ensure the employees can perform their jobs safely and we maintain a high level of professionalism to outside guests.
There is a Custodian that serves on each shift, and you will work as a team, communicating any needs, concerns, or ideas that are important to maintaining the facilities.
Importantly, you will be part of a team that is first in the world to turn troublesome waste streams into valuable raw materials. This is an exciting sector that’s projected to grow exponentially in the coming years, providing ample opportunity for personal and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
The manufacturing plant environment may be hot, noisy, and/or dirty with carbon black at times. Manufacturing operation is a chemical process. Product streams include a carbon black stream, a liquid hydrocarbon oil stream, and a hydrocarbon vapor stream. Process equipment will be installed indoors and outdoors and will be at different levels. Access to this equipment will be via stairways and/or ladders. Safety glasses with side shields, safety shoes, hearing protection, and at times a dust respirator will be required in manufacturing areas.

Full-time, 12-hour shifts (7pm-7am)
Pay Range: $16-20/hour

Key Responsibilities
- Sweeps and cleans all facility floors
- Empties trash and garbage containers
- Cleans snow and debris from sidewalks, entrances, and other areas
- Spot clean, dust, clean windows, sweep and mop break rooms, etc.
- Minor groundskeeping including weeding, picking up trash, etc.
- Assists with laundry services, which are managed by an offsite company
- Clean and disinfect water fountains, toilets, sinks, restrooms, and first aid areas.
- Maintains buildings, performing minor and routine upkeep and other light maintenance as assigned.
- Notifies management concerning need for major repairs or equipment needed to ensure facilities are maintained properly
- Special projects as required
- One (1) year of related work experience in a janitorial function, or equivalent related experience, preferred
- Ability to follow standards and protocols to ensure safety and quality facility-wide
- Ability to employ courtesy and tact in communicating with staff and guests
- Be a team player with a “can do” attitude
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures
- Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures to comply with health and safety standards
