Position Summary:
This specific Assistant Golf Professional role will oversee and be held accountable for all day to day operations including but not limited to the descriptions and additional duties are listed below
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Director of Golf with merchandising operations including: Develop merchandising goals, preparing and using open-to-buy plan, understanding merchandise budgets in relation to revenue and COGS and achieve/exceed monthly projections, purchasing, pricing and displaying of merchandise, completing monthly inventory reports and monitoring monthly sales and shrink. Familiarize with KemperSports vendor program and applicable discounts to maximize profit potential.
- Assist Director of Golf with oversight of golf department service staff, including training, scheduling and day-to-day operations.
- Utilize Golf Genius Tournament software to assist Golf Event Coordinator with Private events and club events
- Assist with instruction of all golf camps and player development clinics.
- Assist with staffer training using the KemperSports’ TrueService training program. Monitor performance to ensure service standards and productivity goals are achieved.
- Implement applicable Company operating, human resources, and safety policies and procedures pertaining to Golf Shop and practice center activities.
- Monitor pace of play on a regular basis and take action as needed to maintain desired pace.
- Ensure that the Golf Shop, storage areas, cart storage, and grounds are maintained per Company cleanliness and appearance standards. Maintain clean, presentable and fully stocked merchandise displays.
- Provide first-class member and guest service throughout the Club with focus on all golf operations. Interact with members and guests in a congenial and professional manner.
Qualifications:
- High School required. BA or BS degree preferred.
- Preferred 2-3 years experience
- PGA Member or Apprentice in good Standing preferred
- Demonstrated quality written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including nights/weekends.
- Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.
