Boll and Branch is looking for a Lead Brand Ambassador (sales associate) to join our growing retail team.

The Lead Brand Ambassador is a partner to the store’s management team in managing the daily operations of the store. The Lead Brand Ambassador is responsible for maximizing retail sales and profits by maintaining a high standard of customer service, as well as establishing a strong repeat business. The Lead Brand Ambassador leads by example and maintains a strong presence on the sales floor. They will train and coach store associates to achieve sales plans, while also ensuring the highest visual presentation and housekeeping standards are maintained. The Lead Brand Ambassador will operate in accordance with the company’s operational guidelines to ensure operational excellence while also adhering to all loss prevention procedures.

This position is located in The Grove in Shrewsbury, NJ.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve and exceed individual sales goals.
  • Create elevated experiences for our clients through our in-store, in-home and virtual design consultation program.
  • Be an expert in all Boll & Branch products and assist the Store Manager in training all team members to be product knowledge experts.
  • Coach the team on developing and maintaining client relationships to achieve sales goals.
  • Assist the Store Manager in coaching staff to achieve goals by clearly communicating the metrics for success and supporting diverse learning styles and paces in each area of the business.
  • Perform daily paperwork reconciliation and other operational tasks, including inventory adjustments.
  • Communicate and implement corporate directives to retail associates in a timely and effective manner. Enforce company policies and procedures by training and onboarding new staff members.
  • Focus on creating an inclusive customer experience, develop customer loyalty, and cultivate repeat business.
  • Increase profitability by planning and executing traffic-driving store events.
  • Maintain store presentation to ensure the selling environment is customer ready at all times.
  • Secure all entry and exit points when opening and closing the store.
  • Manage the alarm system, including setting, disarming and keeping alarm codes confidential.
  • Ensuring all safety and security protocols are followed and reporting any maintenance issues or hazards promptly to the store manager.
  • Balance registers, perform accurate cash counts and deposit daily cash takings in the safe or designated bank drop.
  • Report cash discrepancies immediately to the store manager.
  • Ensure all tasks noted on the opening/closing checklist are performed.
  • Protect store assets and inventory.
  • Be an ambassador for all company values and operate with integrity at all times.
  • Follow standard operating procedures of the store and drive results by contributing to the operation of the store.
  • Assist with designing a client’s space based on sleeping habits and style preferences.
  • Perform in-home installations for our clients while making additional recommendations.
  • Any and all other functions, duties, or projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years in a retail sales role.
  • Understanding of specialty retail, customer service, visual merchandising, and store operations.
  • Knowledge of basic retail math and cash management techniques.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude and the ability to effectively engage with customers with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • A mentor and leader to staff and peers.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and display effective time management skills.
  • Ability to travel to our corporate office and other store locations as needed.
  • Proficient with standard office and retail environment equipment (phones, POS, alarm systems etc).
  • Intermediate knowledge of G-Suite (including Google Drive/Docs), as well as Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, reach overhead, lift up to 50 lbs., and be able to climb a ladder/step stool, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Bilingual and able to read, write and speak Spanish is a plus, but not required.

The annual base salary range for this role is $25 to $30 (new hires are typically brought into the organization between the minimum to midpoint of the salary range posted depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role). It is important to note that our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size, industry, and the market and are one part of the total rewards that we provide. Individual pay rate decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, scope of the role, and internal peer benchmarking.In addition, while we are not commission based, there is an opportunity to earn a monthly-based bonus on store performance.
