Position Overview:We are seeking a skilled 2nd Class Ship Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 3 months of ship fitting experience and possess the ability to perform essential ship fitting tasks with precision and efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of layout techniques, cutting with a torch, metric measurements (e.g., cm, mm), and structural fitting processes. Candidates must successfully pass a hands-on craft test in alignment with the craft classification standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform accurate layout, cutting, and fitting of structural components in accordance with shipbuilding specifications.
- Utilize cutting torches and other tools to shape materials as required.
- Measure and interpret dimensions using metric units (e.g., cm, mm) to ensure precise construction.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Minimum of 3 months of ship fitting experience.
- Demonstrated ability to perform layout, cutting, and fitting tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in metric measurements and the use of tools relevant to the trade.
