Job Title: Configuration Manager
Location: Lockport, LA
Job Overview: A Configuration Manager is responsible for overseeing the configuration data process, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, and maintaining the contractual baseline configuration. This role involves managing the configuration control of all government program-generated documents, both electronic and hard copy, and coordinating correspondence between the company and regulatory agencies. The Configuration Manager also ensures accurate documentation of hull configuration information, maintaining both current and historical records while supporting multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the successful execution of the configuration data process in compliance with contract requirements.
- Chair the CCB (Configuration Control Board).
- Establish and maintain the contractual baseline configuration.
- Manage configuration control of all department-generated documents, including electronic and hard copy records.
- Capture and maintain hull configuration information, ensuring both current and historical configurations are documented.
- Maintain baseline configuration across multiple projects.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve discrepancies.
- Consult with clients and customers to analyze and understand functional data requirements.
- Develop and implement a Configuration Management (CM) Plan to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Administer and maintain configuration management databases, including CDMD-OA and MERLIN (as applicable).
- Oversee database administration and maintenance within the CM system, ensuring physical organization of database objects.
- Provide customers with accurate configuration information necessary for operating and maintaining vessels/systems.
- Assist program teams with related tasks as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in program support within the shipbuilding industry.
- Knowledge of Ship Work Breakdown Structure (SWBS).
- Experience with database administration and maintenance (Microsoft Access, SQL Server, or Oracle preferred).
- Configuration management certification preferred.
- College degree preferred in relevant field.
Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and train team members within the department.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
