Job Title: Industrial Engineer
Location: Houma, LA
Position Overview:
The Industrial Engineer leads and completes moderately complex industrial engineering assignments while performing statistical analyses to enhance production flow, cost efficiency, schedule performance, and overall operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
The following duties outline the general nature and scope of work and are not an exhaustive list of responsibilities:
- Analyze and design sequences of operations and workflows to improve production efficiency and facility layouts, ensuring optimal utilization of personnel and equipment.
- Conduct studies on cost control, cost reduction, inventory management, and production record systems to identify improvement opportunities.
- Optimize manufacturing labor allocation and material flow through methods such as line balancing, time studies, and workflow optimization.
- Develop sustainable solutions and standardized workflows for new and existing products with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Support manufacturing safety by designing ergonomic solutions for operations and material handling.
- Recommend process improvements for equipment utilization, operation sequences, and overall production strategies.
- Establish accident prevention measures and manage training programs for all phases of production operations.
- Perform Bottleneck Analysis and Value Stream Mapping to guide strategic deployment.
- Collaborate with facilities engineers on facility planning and design to meet production needs.
Desired Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities:
- Comprehensive understanding of EVMS concepts and their application.
- Advanced knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and standards.
- Familiarity with product launch management systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to act with a sense of urgency.
- Proficiency with computer systems and engineering software.
Experience & Training:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 months in industrial engineering, shipbuilding, or production processes.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or equivalent experience required.
