Job Title: Network Technician
Location: Pascagoula, MS
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Network Technician with at least 2 years of network maintenance experience. The candidate will support our IT group in reviewing, analyzing and evaluating business systems and user needs. The candidate will also document requirements, define scope and objectives, and develop systems aligned with overall business strategies.
Requirements:
- 2 years of network maintenance or related experience.
- Experience in installing and supporting network hardware and software.
- Working knowledge of Local Area Networking (LAN) and Active Directory principles.
- Certifications and/or degrees in a related field are a plus.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of principles, standards, and processes in network management.
- Proficiency in using procedures, equipment, and tools to configure, repair, and maintain network equipment effectively.
- Excellent customer relationship and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and resolve infrastructure help desk tickets as assigned.
- Perform network setup, software installation, and troubleshooting.
- Educate employees on network functionalities and provide guidance on resolving common issues.
- Maintain technical issue tracking systems and inventory; create and update system documentation.
- Diagnose, research, and resolve user issues, isolating error sources and applying effective solutions.
- Escalate complex technical issues beyond expertise to technical staff and ensure proper tracking until resolution.
- Enhance expertise in IT equipment, software, and hardware by completing cross-training programs.
- Uphold high standards of ethics, integrity, diplomacy, and confidentiality when dealing with employees and external customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
