What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Production Design Manager position at Bollinger Shipyards?
GENERAL FUNCTION : Responsible for overall management and technical accuracy of production design deliverables (outfitting, mechanical, electrical). Will work with Chief Engineers to set priorities for the projects and ensure proper resources are allocated to meet cost and schedule mandates. Responsible for coordinating all functional to production design engineering activities to ensure they match. Accountable for manpower allocation, budgets, schedules and quality content. Reports directly to Director of Engineering.

- Responsible for the deliverables compliance with functional engineering design.
- Directly involved with functional arrangements creation throughout vessels.
- Accountable, as a team member, for creating schedules and schedule compliance.
- Directly manages the production of drawings and assigned deliverables.
- Responsible for budget estimating and keeping current status of all assigned jobs.
- Provide supervisory guidance, technical assistance and training to assigned personnel.
- Accountable for compliance with drawing procedures and standards.
- Responsible for obtaining verified vendor information and technical data from functional engineering group as required for incorporation into the production design and model.
- Accountable for model integration of base craft with all other craft systems and equipment, supervising the checking for interferences within the model before issuing deliverables.
- Integrating with the Craft for lessons learned and added improvements to reduce cost.
- Excellent supervision and leadership skills. Strong technical skills.
- Excellent creativity and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment. Strong conflict resolution skills. Proficient with 2D/3D AutoCAD, and ShipCon.
- Possess a thorough understanding of vessel design in any or all of the following areas:
- Structure
- Hull
- Naval Architecture
- Outfitting
- Mechanical Systems
- HVAC
- Auxiliary
- Propulsion
- Electrical
- Wireways/Cableways
- Lighting
- Electrical General Arrangement
