Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Performing assembly, alignment, and testing of electro-mechanical-optical systems.
- SUPPORTING integration and characterization tests associated with lasers, optics, electronics, software, firmware, and sub-assemblies.
- Assisting engineers in tooling development, material flow, and documentation.
- Supporting test process and test method development.
- Troubleshooting system and subsystem failures to determine root causes of failure.
- Communicating with engineers and technical personnel to resolve testing failures, system malfunctions, and data interpretation.
- Supporting transition of engineering prototypes to production.
Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Area knowledge in Lasers, Laser Systems.
- Proficiency with industry standard tools and methods for laser, photonic, and electro-optical systems engineering.
- Broad knowledge of assembly, alignment, driving, and test methodologies and related equipment.
- Hands-on experience in laboratory technical work in lasers.
- Working knowledge of the equipment needed for the job.
- Experience in documenting technical work and results.
